pH Stabilizer – Carpet pH Neutralizer

Americolor pH Stabilizer is a professional dyeing aid formulated for nylon, wool, and stainblocker fibers with high pH levels. It is also designed for dyeing applications where cleaning compounds are included in the dye mixture.

pH Stabilizer lowers the pH of both the dye bath and carpet fibers, helping create the appropriate conditions for effective dye absorption. It stabilizes the dye bath at a pH of 4–6 for nylon and wool and 2–3 for stain-resist fibers, helping ensure maximum effectiveness of the dye.

pH Stabilizer should be used for color cleaning and stainblocker applications where pH adjustment is needed. It is available in both liquid and powder formulations, providing flexibility for different carpet dyeing applications.

One ounce of pH Stabilizer will lower the pH of 1 gallon of dye bath by approximately 2–3 pH points. The powder formulation also offers a convenient concentrate option: 1 lb. of powder makes 1 gallon of liquid concentrate.

How To Use

1. Determine the pH of the dye bath and carpet fibers before treatment.
2. Add pH Stabilizer as needed to lower the pH to the appropriate range for the carpet fiber.
3. For nylon and wool, stabilize the dye bath at a pH of 4–6.
4. For stain-resist fibers, stabilize the dye bath at a pH of 2–3.
5. For general application, 1 oz. of pH Stabilizer will lower 1 gallon of dye bath by approximately 2–3 pH points.
6. When using the powder formulation, prepare the concentrate according to product specifications; 1 lb. of powder makes 1 gallon of liquid concentrate.
7. Proceed with the appropriate dyeing or color-cleaning procedure once the desired pH has been achieved.
